May 10 Depart Toronto to Lisbon .

May 11 Arrival in Lisbon. Panoramic tour of Lisbon, including visit to Santo António Church. According to tradition, the church was built on the site where Saint Anthony of Padua was born in 1195. We also visit Lisbon Cathedral, better known as Sé de Lisboa, the oldest and most important church in the city. Transfer to our hotel in Fatima. Time for rest, dinner, procession with candles and overnight.

May 12 Full day in Fatima, famous for the apparitions of our Lady of the Rosary to three shepherd children:
Lucia dos Santos and her two cousins. After morning Mass we are going to visit the Apparition Chapel, the Basilica that contains the tombs of St. Francisco, St. Jacinta and sister Lucia. Later we visit the village of Aljustrel and the houses where children used to live. We stop in Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared on August 19, 1917. We also stop at the places where the Angel of Peace appeared to the little shepherds in 1916, to prepare them for the future apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Some free time in the afternoon for individual activities and prayers. After dinner, procession with candles celebrating the vigil of Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. Overnight.

May 13 Morning mass in Fatima celebrating vigil of Our Lady of Rosary and anniversary of First Apparition. In the afternoon we visit Nazaré. According to the Legend of Nazaré the town derives its name from a small wooden statue of the Virgin Mary, a Black Madonna brought by a monk in the 4th century from Nazareth. On the way back to Fatima we stop in medieval walled town of Obidos. When 13th-century Portuguese Queen Isabel passed through Obidos and marveled at its beauty, her husband King Denis I simply gave it to her. For centuries after, the kings of Portugal followed suit, presenting the picturesque little town to their queens as a wedding gift. Dinner, procession with candles and overnight in Fatima.

May 14 In the morning we leave Fatima and travel to Coimbra, the medieval capital of Portugal for over a hundred years. We stop at the Carmelite convent of Santa Teresa where Sister Lucia dos Santos lived from 1948 until her death on February 05, 2005. Continue to Braga one of the oldest Christian cities in the world, nicknamed the “Portuguese Rome”. We visit the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte famous for a monumental staircase built of granite and interconnected by a series of chapels showing the XIV Stations of the Cross. Mass. In the evening we cross to Spain. Dinner and overnight in Santiago de Compostela.

May 15 In the morning walking tour of Santiago de Compostela including the Shrine of St. James, where the remains of Saint James, one of the apostles of Jesus Christ, are buried. Santiago de Compostela is known as the culmination of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route popular since the Middle Ages. Private mass. After lunch continue for dinner and overnight.

May 16 Today we visit the Sanctuary of St. Ignatius Loyola , founder of the Society of Jesus. He was born in 1491 in Azpeitia in the Basque province, Spain. We are going to visit impressive baroque style Basilica, the old Layola’s family tower house and the Conversion chapel, where in 1521 Ignatius decided to follow Jesus, founding the Jesuit Order years later. Mass. After lunch depart for Lourdes (France). Upon arrival dinner, procession with candles and overnight.

May 17 Full day in Lourdes. After breakfast we start the day attending mass in one of the chapels in the Basilica. Next we visit the Grotto de Massabielle where the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette in 1858. Your walking tour includes two Basilicas, St. Bernadette’s birthplace and the “Cachot” where Bernadette lived with her family in great poverty at the time of apparitions. Balance of the day is at leisure. You may wish to bathe in the healing waters or attend the “Blessing of the Sick”. After dinner candlelight procession. Overnight in Lourdes.

May 18 This morning, we leave Lourdes and travel to Toulouse where you will visit the Basilica of St. Sernin and venerate the Head of St. Thomas Aquinas. Mass. Continue to Bordeaux with a stop in one of the wineries for wine tasting tour. Dinner and overnight in Bordeaux.

May 19 Walking tour of Bordeaux including the Cathedral of St. Andrew After lunch depart to Rennes for dinner and overnight.

May 20 Early morning departure for Mont Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to tradition, in 709 St. Michael the Archangel appeared to the bishop of Avranches, St. Aubert, and told him to build a chapel in his honor on the island. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the VIII TH century Abbey and the ancient backstreets of Mont St. Michel. Continue to Lisieux for dinner and overnight.

May 21 In the morning we visit Les Buissonnets, family home of St. Therese. Next, visit St. Peter’s Cathedral, where her family attended Mass, and the Carmelite Convent, where she lived as a nun. After mass we travel from Lisieux to Paris. Upon arrival panoramic tour of the city including famous landmarks: Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, Champs Elysees and Notre Dame Cathedral. Dinner and overnight in Paris.

May 22 Full day in Paris. We start with the visit to Miraculous Medal Church where Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830 and gave her instructions to have the Miraculous Medal made. Celebrate Mass in the Chapel, and venerate the incorrupt body of St. Catherine, as well as the heart of St. Vincent de Paul. After lunch visit to Sacre Coeur Church and some free time in Montmartre, charming village famous for many artist that lived there in XIX century. Dinner and overnight in Paris.

May 23 Today our tour comes to the end. After breakfast we get transferred to the airport for direct flight back to Toronto.

If cancellation is necessary, please advise QS Travel & Tours immediately in writing. Cancellation charges are as follows:
60 days before departure ……………………………….$300.00 per person
Between 60 and 45 days before departure ………. 50% of the total cost
45 days or less ………………………………………….. 100% of the total cost

A $25 administration charge will be applied for changes you make to your booking outside the 60 days to departure period. Please note name changes are not allowed and such will be treated as cancellations.

QS Travel & Tours will advise you of any change we feel significantly alters the holiday which you have purchased from us. Occasionally, changes might occur close to departure time. In such cases, you will be notified as early as possible. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the local tour operator may have to make last minute changes in hotel or schedule. We reserve the right to substitute any of the hotel with hotels in similar or better category. First class twin-bedded rooms with private facilities are used.

No refund or adjustment can be made for any portion of holiday not used.

The Ministry of Consumer Relations requires that Ontarians traveling abroad be advised that they may encounter different living standards and practices than those at home.

QS Travel & Tours sells holidays from and returning to Toronto only. In the event of a change in our flight times, with or without notice, we cannot accept responsibility for any special connecting fares which you might purchase and which cannot be changed without penalty.

A valid Canadian passport is required for all visits outside of Canada. It is the sole responsibility of the passenger to ensure proper and valid documentation. Failure to provide valid documentation may result in denied boarding of the aircraft and cancellation of your flight arrangements without refund. If you are holding a passport other than Canadian, please contact QS Travel & Tours to determine whether or not a visa is required for entry into the country you will be visiting.
