Itinerary

 

 

July 07 Departure Toronto by direct flight to Rome.

July 08 Upon arrival we enjoy panoramic tour of the city including Forum Romanum and Colosseum. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

July 09 After breakfast, we have a guided tour of Vatican Museum, continue with a visit to St Peter’ Basilica. Afternoon, we visit major basilicas in the Holy City, including St. Paul Outside the Walls, St. Mary Major and St. John Lateran. Mass. Dinner & overnight in Rome.

July 10 In the morning we get transferred to St. Peter’s Square, Vatican, audience with Pope Francis. Some free time by famous Trevi fountain. Later afternoon, transfer to Assisi for dinner and overnight.

July 11 After breakfast, we visit Assisi, the city of St. Francis, patron saint of Italy. The town of Assisi with its winding medieval streets and sacred shrines has been one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations. We visit the Lower Basilica housing the tomb of St Francis and the Upper Basilica with famous Giotto frescoes, illustrating scenes from St Francis life. We also visit Santa Maria Degli Angeli Basilica. Inside the Basilica we can see the Porziuncola, original stone chapel restored and frequently used by St. Francis and Chapel of Transition, small room in which St Francis died on October 3, 1226. Afternoon, transfer to Florence. Dinner & overnight in Florence.

July 12 After breakfast, our guided tour of Florence takes us to the church of Santa Croce, a visit to the basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza Signora and Ponte Veccio. Afternoon, transfer to Milan. Dinner & overnight in Milan.

July 13 After breakfast, panoramic tour of Milan. It takes us to the Duomo, one of the biggest and grandest Gothic cathedrals in the world, Dominican convent Santa Maria delle Grazie La Scala Opera House and Basilica Saint Ambrogio one of the oldest churches in Milan. Mass. Transfer to Turin for dinner and overnight.

July 14 After breakfast, we visit the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, where one of Christianity’s holiest artifacts, the Shroud of Turin, is kept. After lunch, travel to Avignon – the city of Popes. In 14th century seven consecutive Popes took residence in Avignon. Mass, dinner & overnight.

July 15 After breakfast, we visit the ancient walled city and see the Notre Dame Des Doms Cathedral, the Popes Palace and world famous Avignon Bridge – Pont St.Benezet. Mass. Transfer to Lourdes. Upon arrival dinner, procession with candles and overnight.

July 16 Full day in Lourdes. Time to visit the Grotto of Massabielle, two Basilicas and participate in the Way of the Cross. Time for baths and visit to the “Cachot” where Bernadette lived with her family in great poverty at the time of apparitions. Mass. After dinner procession with candles. Overnight in Lourdes.

July 17 After breakfast, we travel to Burgos, Spain in the past capital of the Castile Kingdom for almost five hundred years. Upon arrival, we have guided panaromar tour of the city. Also, we visit Cathedral dedicated to Virgin Mary and we celebrate mass. Burgos Cathedral is a masterpiece of Spanish gothic architecture, declared World Heritage by UNESCO. Dinner and overnight in Burgos.

July 18 Today we travel to Oviedo, one of the most important places in the early history of Spain. In the Middle Ages, during Spain’s resistance against the Moors, Oviedo was the countries cultural, political and religious centre. Oviedo is a treasure of religious architecture, dotted with monasteries, cathedrals and shrines that date all the way back to the 9th century. We visit Cathedral of San Salvador hosting the Sudarium of Oviedo, belived to be the burial cloth wrapped around the head of Jesus after he died. Mass. Continue to Santiago de Compostela, where the remains of the Apostle Saint James are buried. Dinner and overnight.

July 19 After breakfast, we have guided walking tour of Santiago de Compostela including the Shrine of St. James. Santiago de Compostela has been one of the most popular Christian pilgrimage destinations since 11th century. After private mass, we travel to Fatima for dinner and overnight.

July 20 After breakfast we visit Santarem, the site of Eucharistic Miracle in February 1247. Mass. Afternoon we visit Nazare. According to the Legend of Nazaré the town derives its name from a small wooden statue of the Virgin Mary, a Black Madonna brought by a monk in the 4th century from Nazareth, Holy Land to a monastery near the city of Merida, Spain and was brought to its current place in 711 by another monk. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.

July 21 Full day in Fatima, famous for the apparitions of our Lady of the Rosary that appeared to three shepherd children: Lucia dos Santos and her two cousins. We are going to visit the Apparition Chapel, the Basilica that contains the tombs of two younger children and the houses where Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia used to live. Mass. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.

July 22 After breakfast, transfer to Lisbon airport for our direct flight back to Toronto.

HOW TO BOOK:
A non refundable deposit of $300.00 per person is required at time of booking. Insurance must be purchased at time of booking.

BALANCE OF PAYMENT
Balance due is payable 60 days prior to departure For late bookings /within 60 days/ full payment is due immediately.

CANCELLATION:
If cancellation is necessary, please advise QS Travel & Tours immediately in writing. Cancellation charges are as follows:
60 days before departure ……………………………….$300.00 per person
Between 60 and 45 days before departure ………………. 50% of the total cost
45 days or less …………………………………… 100% of the total cost

IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKING:
A $25 administration charge will be applied for changes you make to your booking outside the 60 days to departure period. Please note name changes are not allowed and such will be treated as cancellations.

IF QS TRAVEL & TOURS CHANGES YOUR BOOKING:
QS Travel & Tours will advise you of any change we feel significantly alters the holiday which you have purchased from us. Occasionally, changes might occur close to departure time. In such cases, you will be notified as early as possible. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the local tour operator may have to make last minute changes in hotel or schedule. We reserve the right to substitute any of the hotel with hotels in similar or better category. First class twin-bedded rooms with private facilities are used.

UNUSED SERVICES:
No refund or adjustment can be made for any portion of holiday not used.

GOOD VALUE AND EXPECTATIONS:
The Ministry of Consumer Relations requires that Ontarians traveling abroad be advised that they may encounter different living standards and practices than those at home.

FLIGHT CONNECTIONS:
QS Travel & Tours sells holidays from and returning to Toronto only. In the event of a change in our flight times, with or without notice, we cannot accept responsibility for any special connecting fares which you might purchase and which cannot be changed without penalty.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION:
A valid Canadian passport is required for all visits outside of Canada. It is the sole responsibility of the passenger to ensure proper and valid documentation. Failure to provide valid documentation may result in denied boarding of the aircraft and cancellation of your flight arrangements without refund. If you are holding a passport other than Canadian, please contact QS Travel & Tours to determine whether or not a visa is required for entry into the country you will be visiting.

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
One piece of luggage of 23kg per person plus a carry-on-bag /weighting not more than 5 kg/

All flight times are subject to change with or without prior notice to the passengers or his/her agent. QS Travel & Tours does not accept liability for missed connection or any expenses resulting from an offschedule, rescheduled or late flight operations.

PRICES
Prices in this brochure are given in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated. Prices are correct at the time of going to press. In the event of any change beyond QS Travel & Tours control, including but not limited to increase in the price of fuel, currency fluctuations affecting our costs, or increases in government taxes or levies. QS Travel & Tours reserves the right to surcharge the passenger/s up to 7% of a tour cost

QS Travel & Tours Inc. is a tour operator and has made the advertised holiday arrangements with the airline/s/, hotel/s/, cruiseship/s/, other operator/s/ and other. Each of these organizations has its own specific terms and conditions for doing business and you will be bound by them. QS Travel & Tours accepts no responsibility for /A/ the acts or omissions of any party/ies/ other than QS Travel & Tours employees./B/failure by the passenger to be properly documented; /C/ failure by the passenger to comply with departure or joining or baggage requirements; /D/ aircraft delays, government actions, act/s/ of God or any factor beyond our direct control; /E/ cancellation or delay to any tour or holiday or change to the itinerary; /F/ expenses resulting from lost or damaged baggage. QS Travel & Tours reserves the right to refuse any person as a member of these tours at its sole discretion. QS Travel & Tours reserves the right to cancel any or all departure/s/ with or without prior notice and QS Travel & Tours sole responsibility shall be to refund all monies paid for such cancelled departures.
