DAY 1 Sep 14 Departure Toronto by direct flight to Rome.

DAY 2 Sep 15 Upon arrival we enjoy panoramic tour of the city including Forum Romanum and Colosseum. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

DAY 3 Sep 16 After breakfast transfer to Vatican for audience with Pope Francis. Afternoon, we visit St. Paul outside the Walls. Mass. Dinner & overnight in Rome.

DAY 4 Sep 17 In the morning, we visit St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, St. Thomas Finger and True piece of the cross/nails. Also, we have a guided tour of Vatican Museum, continue with a visit to St Peter’ Basilica. Some free time by famous Trevi fountain. Late afternoon, transfer to Assisi for dinner & overnight.

DAY 5 Sep 18 After breakfast, we visit Assisi, the city of St. Francis, patron saint of Italy. The town of Assisi with its winding medieval streets and sacred shrines has been one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations. We visit the Lower Basilica housing the tomb of St Francis and the Upper Basilica with famous Giotto frescoes, illustrating scenes from St Francis life. We also visit Santa Maria Degli Angeli Basilica. Inside the Basilica we can see the Porziuncola, original stone chapel restored and frequently used by St. Francis and Chapel of Transition, small room in which St Francis died on October 3, 1226, St. Claire at the top of the hill. Afternoon, transfer to Florence. Dinner & overnight in Florence.

DAY 6 Sep 19 After breakfast, our guided tour of Florence take us to the church of Santa Croce, a visit to the basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza Signora and Ponte Veccio. Afternoon, transfer to Milan. Dinner & overnight in Milan.

DAY 7 Sep 20 After breakfast, panoramic tour of Milan. It takes us to the Duomo, one of the biggest and grandest Gothic cathedrals in the world, Dominican convent Santa Maria delle Grazie La Scala Opera House and Basilica Saint Ambrogio one of the oldest churches in Milan. Transfer to Turin.we visit the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, where one of Christianity’s holiest artifacts, the Shroud of Turin, is kept.  Dinner and overnight in Turin.

DAY 8 Sep 21 After breakfast, travel to Monte Carlo with its Cathedral where Princess Grace was married and is now buried. Mass. Continue to Avignon for dinner & overnight.

DAY 9 Sep 22 After breakfast, we visit the ancient walled city and see the Notre Dame Des Doms Cathedral, the Popes Palace and world famous Avignon Bridge – Pont St. Benezet. Mass. Transfer to Lourdes. Upon arrival dinner, procession with candles and overnight.

DAY 10 Sep 23 Full day in Lourdes. Time to visit the Grotto of Massabielle, two Basilicas and participate in the Way of the Cross. Time for baths and visit to the “Cachot” where Bernadette lived with her family in great poverty at the time of apparitions. Mass. After dinner procession with candles. Overnight in Lourdes.

DAY 11 Sep 24 After breakfast, we travel to Bilbao, an industrial port city in northern Spain, is surrounded by green mountains. Upon arrival, guided tour of the city takes us to Santiago Cathedral – A Gothic church built in 1379 and Basilica of Begoña – Contains the image of the Virgen de Begoña, the patron saint of Vizcaya. Dinner and overnight in Burgos/Leon.

DAY 12 Sep 25 Morning, tour the city of Leon. We visit Leon Cathedra and Basílica de San Isidoro. Afternoon, continue to Santiago de Compostela for dinner and overnight.

DAY 13 Sep 26 After breakfast, we have guided walking tour of Santiago de Compostela including the Shrine of St. James. Santiago de Compostela has been one of the most popular Christian pilgrimage destinations since 11th century. After private mass, we travel to Braga. In the city center, medieval Braga Cathedral is home to a sacred art museum and the Gothic-style Kings’ Chapel. Nearby, the imposing Archbishop’s Palace overlooks Santa Barbara Garden. Dinner and overnight in Braga.

DAY 14 Sep 27 After breakfast, we visit Bom Jesus do Monte complex has a neoclassical church atop an elaborate 17-flight stairway.  Later, travel to Fatima. En route, stop at Porto; explore the city’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic center, seeing Baroque churches and the incredible Porto Cathedral. Hear of Moorish invasions and see some of the city’s more modern highlights, like the wine cellars where its famous Port (fortified wine) is aged, and its iconic iron bridge – Ponte de Dom Luis I. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.

DAY 15 Sep 28 Full day in Fatima, famous for the apparitions of our Lady of the Rosary that appeared to three shepherd children: Lucia dos Santos and her two cousins. We are going to visit the Apparition Chapel, the Basilica that contains the tombs of two younger children and the houses where Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia used to live. Mass. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.

DAY 16 Sep 29 After breakfast transfer to Lisbon airport for our direct flight back to Toronto.
