Day 1- Jun 28 Depart Toronto to Zagreb.

Day 2 -Jun 29 Arrive in Zagreb around 12 pm. Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight in Zagreb.

Day 3-June 30 Today, we enjoy a guided tour of the city, walking tour through the narrow streets of Upper Town, passing the Cathedral, Dolac open air market, Stone Gate, St. Mark’s church with its picturesque roof, Parliament and Government buildings, Lotrscak Tower and many more. Dinner & overnight in Zagreb.

Day 4-July 1 After breakfast, we travel to Graz. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Graz. This city is quirky, colourful and full of great things to do. The city is an official UNESCO World Heritage Site – brimming with history, stunning architecture and museums. Dinner & overnight in Graz.

Day 5-July 2 After breakfast, travel to Salzburg. Half day tour in Salzburg begins with Mass at St. Peter’s Churchyard. Salzburg is compact and best explored on foot. Narrow, winding lanes and secluded passageways are evidence of its medieval roots. The heritage of the Catholic Church is evident in the Archbishop’s Residence and the decoration of the State Rooms, available for viewing. Visit the mighty Romanesque Cathedral, the Nonnberg Convent of Benedictine nuns, and the Fortress Hohensalzburg. Mass. Dinner and overnight in Salzburg.

Day 6-July 3 After breakfast, travel to Munich. Panoramic tour of Munich including Marienplaz, the old and the new City Hall, Bavarian Opera House and the Frauenkirche Cathedral. Mass. Dinner & overnight in Munich.

Day 7-July 4 In the morning, we are going to visit King Ludwig’s II of Bavaria fairy tale castle in Neuschwanstein which was commissioned by him as a retreat and as an homage to composer Richard Wagner. Some free time in Fussen/Apls. Return to Munich for dinner and overnight..

Day 8-July 5 After breakfast departure to the beautiful scenic village of Oberammergau, where we devote our afternoon and evening attending the famous Passion Play. In 1634 the Black Death decimated Europe’s population. Oberammergau remained untouched until a homesick villager returned one night, unknowingly bringing with him the dreaded plague. Almost 100 villagers died as a result. Frightened survivors vowed that if God saved them from the plague, once every 10 years they would re-enact the agony and crucifixion of Christ. From then on there were no further deaths from plague. The villagers fulfilled their pledge ever since. The play portrays the Passion of Christ – from the entry into Jerusalem to the Resurrection. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9-July 6 After breakfast, from Oberammergau area, we travel through picturesque Alps to the Principality of Liechtenstein, nestled between Switzerland and Austria, the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein. Liechtenstein is mainly mountainous, making it a winter sport destination. We admire Vaduz Castle and visit the Cathedral of St. Florin, built in 1874 on the site of earlier medieval foundations. Dinner & overnight in Einsiedeln.

Day 10-July 7 After breakfast, excursion to Bern. Upon arrival, panoramic tour of Bern, we will also visit Bern Cathedral. On the way back to Einsiedeln, short city tour of Zurich. Dinner and overnight in Einsiedeln.

Day 11-July 8 After breakfast, visit the Shrine of Einsiedeln, a Benedictine Monastery established in the 10th century and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Afternoon, travel to Lucerne. Upon arrival, tour the city of Lucerne takes us to Lion Monument, the Cathedral and the Old Bridge. Mass. Dinner and overnight in Lugano.

Day 12-July 9 After breakfast, travel to Milan. Upon arrival in Milan, sightseeing panoramic tour of Milan takes us to the “La Scala” Opera House, Dominican convent Santa Maria delle Grazie and Basilica Sant’Ambrogio one of the Milan’s oldest churches. Also, guided tour of the Duomo, one of the biggest and grandest Gothic cathedrals in the world. Mass. Dinner and overnight in Verona.

Day 13-July 10 After breakfast, tour the city of Verona, famous for being the setting of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” During our tour we are going to see 14th-century residence with a tiny balcony overlooking a courtyard said be “Juliet’s House.” We are also going to visit Cathedral Duomo Santa Maria Maticolare. In the afternoon we continue to Padua, one of the oldest cities in Italy with the renowned University of Padua, almost 800 years old and famous, among other things, for having had Galileo Galilei among its lecturers. We visit the Basilica of Saint Anthony. Built immediately after the death of the Franciscan monk in 1231, Basilica has been one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations for people from all over the world. Basilica houses tomb, relics of Saint Anthony and Chapel of the Dark Madonna. Mass. Dinner and overnight in Padua.

Day 14-July 11 After breakfast, we travel to Venice, relish the sights and sounds of this serene city including canal cruise by motor launch to St. Mark’s Square. We view the bridge of Sighs and Doge’s Palace. Dinner & overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 15-July 12 After breakfast, panoramic tour of the city – Ljubljana, and visit Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. Franciscan Church of the Annunciation is a landmark 17th-century Franciscan church featuring a pink facade & an interior with ceiling frescoes. Mass. Dinner & overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 16-July 13 Transfer to airport in Zagreb for our flight at 14: 00 and fly back to Toronto by direct flight.
